...anyone with sewing expertise? or just...knowledge?
I have a pattern, for a coat.
The thing that is perplexing me, however, is the fact that I have boobs. Not the fact that I have boobs - but the coat is for a man's cut, and I need to adjust the chest a bit so that it's a little more tailored to my specifications that way it doesn't hang off me like a potato sack.
Should I cut and pin together a quick mock!coat out of some old fabric like a sheet or something, to see how how much of the middle needs to be taken in? Is there some way to figure it out without...fucking it up? The coat is already long enough, thanks to the fact that I'm so short - but again, I think that it'll need a bit of tweaking before it's ready to actually be cut from my 'real' fabric which I have yet to procure and sewn up.
(I took Project Art in Jr. High - not Sewing - so my crafting expertise lies in making model airplanes, not wearable clothing.)
